STORY: Viñas del Vero has set itself the goal of turning traditional Spanish and European grape varieties into modern wines. A high quality, which is created according to the principles of sustainability and environmental compatibility, is fundamental.
-
EXPANSION: After the harvest, the grapes are immediately selected and gently pressed. After fermentation in small wood at controlled temperatures, the wine ages in French oak barrels for a few months.
-
JUDGEMENT: The beautifully balanced red wine is pleasantly dry, dense on the palate, with a remarkable finish.

SERVING RECOMMENDATION : Goes well with hearty stews

SERVING TEMPERATURE: 16-18 °C
The Somontano region is little known internationally. But their wines are excellent. The young winery Viñas del Vero is mainly responsible for this. It was founded in Somontano at the end of 1986 with the acquisition of 550 hectares of land in Barbastro and other nearby towns. In 1987, the land began to be replanted with vineyards of the region's traditional grape varieties (Tempranillo, Moristel, Garnacha and Macabeo) as well as others from different sources (Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Noir). Success was not lacking. Viñas del Vero now has 1,062 hectares of vineyards with 16 different pagos and treasures, such as 100-year-old Garnacha vines in Secastilla or the Bodega Blecua in the heart of Somontano. Since 2008 Viñas del Vero is a member of the González Byass family.
