• STORY: Winery Vilarnau specializes in the small-scale artisanal production of exclusive, high-quality cavas and shares its innovative, creative and dynamic nature with Spain's most avant-garde city, Barcelona.

•  VINIFICATION: After the hand picking, the grapes are immediately sorted in the winery and carefully broken. Following fermentation, the base wines are dealcoholized thanks to innovative technologies and further expansion takes place on the basis of classic bottle fermentation.

• EVALUATION: In the glass, the finely sparkling cava shimmers light yellow, with aromas of acacia, fig, green apple and walnut. The non-alcoholic sparkling wine presents itself fruity, fresh and balanced and convinces with a nice aromatic length in the final.
  

• SERVING RECOMMENDATION: As an aperitif, with light dishes or with dessert

In the heart of Catalonia, the vineyards of the Vilarnau winery lie amidst the towering mountains of Montserrat. There, at an altitude of 250 m, the vines benefit from the Mediterranean and particularly sunny climate of the region and the spiritual influences of the famous nearby monastery. Vilarnau Cava is made using traditional bottle fermentation methods, using mainly local grapes: Macabeo, Parellada, Xarel-lo and Garnacha. The Vilarnau family vinified the first cava under the Vilarnau name in 1949. Since then, the Vilarnau winery has been associated with excellent, high-quality cavas that are made with attention to detail. In 1982 Vilarnau became part of the González Byass family.
