STORY: Romina Tacchino knows exactly what she wants. She wants to make good wine and rekindle the passion for Piedmont. Even as a young woman, she stubbornly defended her own views on quality wine-growing and was often at odds with her grandparents because of this
-
VINIFICATION: The grapes are harvested by hand in small vats. They are then macerated at 25°C and mature for 9 months in stainless steel tanks. Matured deliberately without the use of wood, this drop is full of fruit and refreshing liveliness
-
AROMA: Dark forest berries and a hint of liquorice in combination with the cool and fresh acidity
-
ASSESSMENT: These Dolcettos help the wine to achieve the status of both a delicious everyday wine and a fine dining companion.

SERVING RECOMMENDATION: ideal accompaniment to pasta with spicy sauces and Italian meat specialties
It's always nice to see the determination with which some Italian winegrowing families run their winery. The siblings Romina and Alessio Tacchino are the best example. They have almost single-handedly restored the reputation of the Barbera del Monferrato in recent years and are also the only winemaker to have won the coveted Tre Bicchieri of Gambero Rosso for a Dolcetto six times in a row. So much success is no accident. Grandfather Luigi left the family a very well maintained property in the heart of Monferrato. However, in their younger years they often had to fight obstinately against outdated views. So they secretly selected the grapes at night and removed all traces of them in the vineyard. Today, Romina and Alessio have perfectly balanced their philosophy between preserving local characteristics and their constant urge to innovate. Intensive manual work in the vineyard is therefore just as natural as precise cellar work according to the latest technical standards. Their wines amaze with disarming honesty, binding, regional character and drinkable harmony. And on top of that, they come at really amazing prices. How long this will remain so is anyone's guess, after all they are steadily gaining favor with wine critics.
