DFJ Vinhos was founded in Portugal in 1897. And even today, much of the fruit used for DFJ wines grows on the 200-hectare vineyard, which historians call one of the oldest in the nation. Its origins probably go back to before the founding of Portugal. The winery is located in Valada on the Río Tajo. Chief winemaker is José Neiva Correia, one of Portugal's most well-known oenologists with a long winemaking tradition in the family, and his maternal and paternal ancestors were also active in viticulture. He creates wines with creativity and enthusiasm and does not shy away from innovations: Correias is responsible for introducing new grape varieties in Portugal and also has a patent for a method of closing wine bottles in which the cork is disinfected with ozone. In addition, his broad repertoire not only includes wines from grapes from large locations with very low yields, but also wines that are easy to sell and unerringly meet the taste of the international wine market.
