• STORY: Quinta do Casal Monteiro combines the knowledge of the ancestors with the advantages of the latest techniques in order to produce excellent wine from carefully ripened grapes.

• EXPANSION: After the harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house to be sorted and carefully crushed. Following the temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, this wine matures on the fine lees for a few months.

• JUDGEMENT: Full-bodied white wine, produced from the autochthonous Portuguese Arinto grape variety, which is one of the best in the country. Shows a light straw yellow in the glass and a fine and lively acid structure on the palate. Pleasant notes of tropical fruits in the bouquet and on the palate. Good body, remains present and soft in the mouth.

• SERVING RECOMMENDATION : In Portugal it is often served as a stimulating aperitif, but it also goes wonderfully with dishes with white meat and poultry as well as fish and seafood.

In 1979 Quinta do Casal Monteiro was founded in the Tejo region. This region is one of the most renowned growing areas in Portugal. The vineyards are located on fertile alluvial sand soil and have only a low yield, but the quality of the grapes is very high. In addition to the soil, the sub-Mediterranean climate and the proximity to the river give the wines from Quinta do Casal Monteiro their very own personality, which is expressed in the wonderful variety of aromas, excellent acidity and complexity. Since 2009, a new owner has been responsible for the winery. The effort to modernize the winery and the vineyards was rewarded. The quality of the wines has steadily increased and is reflected in several awards (Wine enthusiast, Mundus Vini). At Quinta do Casal Monteiro, the passion for winemaking is absolutely paramount. Every wine is given special care, attention and love at every step of the vinification process. Traditions are also maintained and combined with the latest technology with the greatest care.
