  • STORY: Gunter Kessler is a likeable Palatinate original. And that's exactly what his wines are: authentic wines with an unmistakable character and down-to-earth charm. The Gault Millau 2013 says about Kessler: "For many years, his particular strength has been muscular wines made from white Pinot varieties, especially Pinot Blanc". They come from the idyllic Münzberg winery, which lies at the foot of the top vineyard of the same name in Godramstein in the southern Palatinate.

  • AGEING: wooden barrels –12 months; This cuvée combines the outstanding attributes of the Pinot Noir grape with the positive character elements of the Dornfelder. It is aged dry in used barriques and matures into an independent wine with a special expression in terms of bouquet, taste and fullness.

  • AROMA: The scent of cherries and blackberries continues in the taste.

  • EVALUATION: Ripe and powerful on the palate with soft tannins; dark red color with violet reflections

  • SERVING RECOMMENDATION: Beef and lamb steaks, roast beef, hearty pasta dishes

Gunter Kessler is a likeable Palatinate original. The name of the vineyard and winery comes from the fact that ancient Roman coins have been found in the calcareous soil of the Münzberg for centuries. With the trio "Tagslohn", which was specially developed for us, Gunter presents three wines that are typical of him and that are truly recommended as a relaxing reward for a hard day's work. Since the southern Palatinate is also a wonderful destination for excursions, it should be mentioned here that Gunter Keßler and four colleagues run the cozy country house "5 Bäuerlein" in Landau, where you can enjoy excellent wines with regional delicacies.
