STORY: The Portuguese winery began its success story by breeding Lusitano horses.
-
VINIFICATION: After the harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the press house to be sorted and carefully crushed. Following the temperature-controlled maceration in stainless steel tanks, 20% of this wine is aged in French oak for 6 months, the remaining 80% rest in stainless steel tanks.

RATING: Dense and dark red in the glass. Complex nose in which notes of forest fruits, plums and figs can be discovered. Gripping on the palate and yet elegant, long, present finish with velvety soft tannins.

SERVING TEMPERATURE: 14-16 °C
The Monte da Ravasqueira winery was initially acquired as a house for the family of D. Manuel de Mello for horse breeding. Today, Monte da Ravasqueira has a total of 45 hectares of vineyards in the Alentejo and grows wine here on a whopping eight different soil types. The vineyards in the hinterland of the capital Lisbon are planted with some classics of Portuguese viticulture. Part of the success of Monte da Ravasqueira wines is the dedication of the talented oenologist Pedro Pereira Gonçalves. Since 2012 he has been unswervingly committed to maximum wine quality. This also includes the establishment of successful wine brands such as Guarda Rios, Coutada Velha and Landau.
