• STORY: At the end of the 18th century, the monks of the monastery of Montserrat settled in the area of ​​Els Desterrats (engl. the exiles) known for its barren soil and inhospitable harsh climate. Her self-imposed atonement was to farm this brittle patch of land to provide food for the diocese.

• VINIFICATION: On the Aranyó Torres winery in Juneda, Les Garrigues, the grapes were carefully picked and sorted by hand from mid-September to early October, depending on the grape variety, then completely destemmed and the berries were first cold mashed before fermentation started in stainless steel tanks.

• AROMA: intense also on the nose with an aromatic scent of ripe dark fruits (blueberries, mulberries), backed by fine smoky notes, hints of toffee, caramel and sweet spices

• ASSESSMENT: aromatically powerful and full-bodied with dense, sweetly ripened fruit and spice, firmly structured and at the same time very finely woven tannin, the oak is noticeable but elegantly integrated, the palate is harmoniously round, structured and balanced with fine, fresh acidity, power and finesse in the long finish

• SERVING RECOMMENDATION: with roast hare with baked fruit, roasted and braised lamb or beef with herbs, mushrooms, onions, carrots, chickpeas, roasted goose or duck with wild berry compote or with medium mature cheese
