STORY: For more than 15 years, Miguel Torres has been working to assemble his unique collection of old Catalan grape varieties. Autochthonous varieties, which almost no one was able to correctly interpret and classify, were now collected, replanted, identified and expanded.
VINIFICATION: The low yields (around 3,000 kg/ha) of the old vines in Grans Muralles are harvested by hand and only the best grapes are vinified separately according to grape variety and aged for 18 months in new French Allier and Nevers oak barrels.
AROMA: opulent, seductive bouquet with powerful aromas of toasted bread and ripe, sweet fruits (blackberries, plums) before subtle, slightly spicy notes (black pepper, liquorice
RATING: full-bodied and silky smooth with excellent structure and plump tannins, which wraps itself in delicious notes of chocolate on the palate, the rich abundance of aromas clearly indicates the noble origin of this wine and shows the impressive potential of an outstanding location, a great wine with a dreamlike length
SERVING RECOMMENDATION: Seasoned with the spicy meat dishes of a typical Mediterranean cuisine with roast and grilled meat or stews in tomato sauce with mild paprika and many herbs (thyme, marjoram, rosemary, basil, bay leaf).
