  • STORY: The Limarí valley in the Coquimba region, around 600 kilometers north of the capital Santiago, offers Chardonnay the best growing conditions. The calcareous soil is almost reminiscent of his native Burgundy. However, the minimum amounts of precipitation (around 100 mm on annual average) quickly locate us in northern Chile again. Nothing works here without irrigation.

  • VINIFICATION: The grapes were harvested by the end of February and immediately taken to the winery, where they were gently pressed, half of the musts were fermented in stainless steel tanks (46%) and half in French oak barrels (54%) and aged for six months to preserve a harmonious balance of oak wood and fresh varietal fruit. Torres dispensed with malolactic fermentation and instead let his Chardonnay mature on the fine lees to round it off gently and supple. In November, all batches were blended back and bottled.

  • AROMA: Flowery and fruity bouquet of fruit blossoms, citrus fruits (grapefruit), vineyard peaches and white currants, elegantly underlaid with subtle hints of roasted hazelnuts

  • ASSESSMENT: juicy, mineral and full-bodied on the palate with the fragrant aromas of the bouquet, creamy fullness and lively acidity are elegantly balanced, long finish with fresh, fruity notes (stone fruit, citrus fruits)

  • SERVING RECOMMENDATION: exquisite with caviar and smoked fish (trout, salmon), but also the perfect accompaniment to fresh seafood or somewhat heartier fish dishes (baked, with creamy sauces).
