  • STORY: The Apulia wine region stretches along the Adriatic Sea in the deep south of Italy. Due to the southern location and the proximity to the sea, there is a balanced climate, which offers excellent conditions for the production of full-bodied wines.

  • VINIFICATION: After the selective harvest, the grapes are gently pressed and temperature-controlled fermentation. The wine ages in wooden barrels for 6 months.

  • AROMA: dense ruby red, a wonderfully full bouquet of blackberries, blueberries and a hint of tobacco and chocolate escapes from the glass.

  • RATING: Juicy and soft on the palate, very harmonious, with finely integrated notes of wood and an almost lascivious finale.

  • SERVING RECOMMENDATION: solo, with BBQ or fondue, Scallopineal Marsala, duck breast with plum sauce

The Apulia wine region stretches along the Adriatic Sea in the deep south of Italy. Due to the southern location and the proximity to the sea, there is a balanced climate, which offers excellent conditions for the production of full-bodied wines. One of the most successful and qualitatively best DOC regions is Salice Salentino, where the most fertile vineyards in Puglia are located. The Negroamaro grape variety also has its home here. According to the name 'black bitter', it is usually supplemented by the plummy, soft Malvasia. The nice thing about this region is that you can still buy wines there that are absolutely worth their money. On the one hand, this is because the area is not yet as famous as Piemonto or Tuscany and, on the other hand, because there are very traditional and efficient wineries there that know how to produce really first-class wines, red wines like these Salice Salentino, named after the former Margrave (Italian: Marchese) of Borgo del Sole. The red wine, made from the local grapes Negroamaro and Malvasia and matured in wood for six months, impresses with intensive berry aromas, fine spice and a harmonious character. An impressive proof of the performance of this wine origin.
