STORY: We knew one thing for sure: our Pays d'Ocs should not be run-of-the-mill wines. They should neither taste nor look average. We wanted something special. Wines with a personal, typically southern French touch. So we went in search of a partner who would supply us with these wines

VINIFICATION: Vineyards located in the Languedoc wine region in southern France supply the grapes for this fine wine. The always high-quality harvest gives the Le Cochonnet Réserve du Cochonnet an excellent structure and special fruitiness, which is rather atypical for red wines from this region.
AROMA: Aromas of dark ripe berries
EVALUATION: Good structure on the palate with a pleasant length
SERVING RECOMMENDATION: with pasta with strong tomato sauce, grilled fish and meat dishes
One thing we knew for sure: Our Pays d'Ocs should not be run-of-the-mill wines. They should neither taste nor look average. We wanted something special. Wines with a personal, typically southern French note. So we went in search of a partner who would supply us with these wines. After a series of rehearsals, not far from Montpellier, we met the Vignerons de la Vicomté. When we sat down together, it quickly became clear that we had found our partner. Cellar master Jean Meilhac was on our wavelength. And, more importantly, he had a series of varietal wines in the cellar that matched what we had in mind with amazing precision. “In the south of France we love life. We enjoy dreaming into the day, spending it with nice people and enjoying what the country has given us,” Jean enthused about his homeland and explained to us that he considers the wines that have the little pig (whoever plays boules knows that this is also the name of the wooden jack) on the label to be the quintessential taste of this attitude to life.
