STORY: The family winery is committed to dealing with nature and the environment in a sustainable manner. Since the 2022 vintage, all wines and sparkling wines have been 100% vegan.
-
VINIFICATION: After the hand picking, the grapes are carefully sorted and broken. Following the mash fermentation, the malolactic fermentation (the biological acid degradation) and the 12-month aging of the wine in German oak barrels take place.
-
RATING: Classic Pinot Noir with a fine pinot flavor paired with aromas of cherries, wild berries and white pepper. Harmonious on the palate, elegant with fine tannins.
-
SERVING RECOMMENDATION : A high quality accompaniment to mixed cheese platters, beef and lamb dishes as well as hearty vegetable variations. Also tastes great on its own at the end of the day.

The Julius Zotz winery was founded in 1865 in Heitersheim in the Markgräflerland region of Baden-Württemberg and has grown into one of the largest family wineries in Germany. The Markgräflerland is located in Baden in the extreme southwest of Germany, bordering France to the west and Switzerland to the south. "The commitment to top-class quality" was and remains the philosophy of the winery, which is consistently implemented in environmentally friendly winegrowing and pressing. Today's operators Martin and Michael Zotz optimally harmonize tradition and modernity, so that Zotz wines regularly receive numerous national and international awards. With around 95 hectares of vineyards, the winery is one of the largest private wineries in Germany.
