Golan Heights Winery is one of Israel's top wine producers. The vines are at altitudes of 400 to 1200 meters and produce wines that are appreciated all over the world. The success story of the Golan Heights Winery began in 1976. At that time, extensive studies revealed that the Golan Heights offer ideal conditions for the cultivation of high-quality wines. The soils are dry and volcanic, the climate is relatively cool. After the promising first plantings, the state-of-the-art Golan Heights Winery was finally launched in 1983. Their wines - especially the flagship line Yarden - quickly caused a sensation. Critical praise, awards and gold medals were not long in coming. Yarden means Jordan in Hebrew, and the label features an ancient Israeli oil lamp adorned with mosaics. According to EU Directive 2015/C 375/05, this item may not be declared as wine from Israel.
