STORY: The Story of Glendalough Distillery is the story of five friends from Dublin who quit their regular jobs to break the dominance of Ireland's five major distilleries and breathe new life into the art of distilling in Ireland. For this they chose a legendary place: Glendalough - the "Valley of the Two Lakes". It is in County Wicklow, also known as the "Garden of Ireland".
-
AGEING: This Irish whiskey is aged in new bourbon casks for a minimum of 3 years, then in Oloroso sherry casks for a further 6 months. The subsequent finish in aromatic Canteiro matured Madeira casks gives this whiskey its special finishing touch.
- AROMA: Rich aromas of raisins, exotic fruits, mango and pineapple on the nose with hints of orange zest and jam.
-
RATING: Complex on the palate, yet smooth and lively. Surprisingly rich and finely rounded off with nuances of raisins, dark cherries and plums, but also vanilla and sweet cereals and pepper. Long-lasting notes of dark stone fruit and a slightly earthy spiciness complete this complex whiskey in the finish.

The story of Glendalough Distillery is the story of five friends from Dublin who quit their regular jobs to break the dominance of Ireland's five major distilleries and breathe new life into the art of distilling in Ireland. For this they chose a legendary place: Glendalough - the "Valley of the Two Lakes". It is in County Wicklow, also known as the "Garden of Ireland". Here the famous monk St. Kevin laid the foundation for the Christianization of Ireland. A good 1,400 years later, the wildly romantic valley is the perfect backdrop for Ireland's first "Craft Distillery". The mission: to forget the last 100 years, in which all too often random blends had set the tone and to launch again the style of the great old distillates that once made Irish whiskey famous. All distillates are distilled in small copper pot stills, filtered non-chill, brought to drinking strength with Wicklow mountain spring water and then matured in first-fill bourbon casks. The finish takes place individually in further barrels.
