STORY: Viognier, Petit Verdot or even Chenin Blanc from the Palatinate? In times of climatic changes, suitable answers must also be found in viticulture. How can wines be produced sustainably while protecting resources and the climate? As usual, Alexander and Martin Bauer reacted in an unusual way. They invite many international grape varieties that have never been cultivated in Germany to their home.
-
AGEING: The Viognier was refined in double barrels made from German oak
AROMA: Aromas of ripe yellow fruit such as apricot and peach and hints of honey.
-
RATING: Broad and fresh on the palate, with moderate acidity, complex and well-structured with a beautifully pronounced minerality and plenty of power for a long finish.
SERVING RECOMMENDATION: As an aperitif, with poultry, fish, asparagus, grilled vegetables, goat's cheese
Viognier, Petit Verdot or even Chenin Blanc from the Palatinate? In times of climatic changes, suitable answers must also be found in viticulture. How can wines be produced sustainably while protecting resources and the climate? As usual, Alexander and Martin Bauer reacted in an unusual way. They invite many international grape varieties that have never been cultivated in Germany to their home. They are better adapted to the warmer and drier summer months and feel right at home in the vineyards around Nußdorf. If it is up to the opinion of the wine critics, they should be happy to feel at home here, because the extremely dense and profound wines add a unique spectrum of new possibilities to the Palatinate. We never thought that we would ever say that: But for your next Chenin Blanc, grab a real Palatinate. He will surprise you in a charming way. Just typical farmer!
