STORY: Viognier, Petit Verdot or even Chenin Blanc from the Palatinate? In times of climatic changes, suitable answers must also be found in viticulture. How can wines be produced sustainably while protecting resources and the climate? As usual, Alexander and Martin Bauer reacted in an unusual way. They invite many international grape varieties that have never been cultivated in Germany to their home.
-
AGEING: The grapes are harvested exclusively by hand. After fermentation, the wine is matured in French oak barrels for several months and then bottled without fining.
-
AROMA: Summery ripe stone fruits, such as mirabelle and peach and a pepper note
RATING: Pleasantly round on the palate, yet very powerful and expressive with a long taste experience.
SERVING RECOMMENDATION: Goes well with braised lamb or venison dishes.
Viognier, Petit Verdot or even Chenin Blanc from the Palatinate? In times of climatic changes, suitable answers must also be found in viticulture. How can wines be produced sustainably while protecting resources and the climate? As usual, Alexander and Martin Bauer reacted in an unusual way. They invite many international grape varieties that have never been cultivated in Germany to their home. They are better adapted to the warmer and drier summer months and feel right at home in the vineyards around Nußdorf. If it is up to the opinion of the wine critics, they should be happy to feel at home here, because the extremely dense and profound wines add a unique spectrum of new possibilities to the Palatinate. We never thought that we would ever say that: But for your next Chenin Blanc, grab a real Palatinate. He will surprise you in a charming way. Just typical farmer!
