AROMA: After the selective harvest, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The top wine then matures in Slavonian oak barrels for 8-10 months.

With an international team, a lot of pioneering and innovative spirit, quality and (grape) potential, Cramele Recas brings itself and the wine country of Romania back into the international spotlight. The winemaker couple Hartley Smithers (Australia) and Nora Iriarte (Spain), voted one of the top 100 master winemakers by Drinks Business 2020, have been shaping the quality of the wines in the cellar for over a decade. With the support of young talented winegrowers from all over the world, they show their skills in the vinification of autochthonous and international grape varieties. The results are impressive: from accessible terrace wines at entry-level prices to complex, intensive premium wines and specialties such as the Solara Orange Wine. The portfolio is as diverse and exciting as the team behind it.
