"Conte di Lucca" is a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC matured in small wooden barrels for eight months, which is made exclusively from the best barrels of a vintage.
It impresses with a crimson robe, a spicy-floral bouquet and an extremely harmonious, mature and full-bodied taste, which is crowned by a subtle note of wood.
The Conte di Lucca Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC from the hilly region along the 150 km long Adriatic coast is a tribute to the wine lover AdalbertoI, who in his time (845-898) bore the title of Conte di Lucca. Stories say that year after year the Conte di Lucca put the best barrels of his favorite wine in the wine cellar of his castle to let it mature there in peace. So today, as in Adalberto's time, only wine from the best barrels of the vintage is selected for the Conte di Lucca. This wonderfully mature, characterful and balanced red wine presents itself in the glass with a wonderful garnet red colour. Its bouquet has a clear cherry aroma, a graceful berry note and an impressive spiciness. In the mouth, the Conte di Lucca shines with its sensitively integrated wood note, which it has achieved through its eight-month aging in oak barriques.
