VINIFICATION: After the selective harvest, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The expansion and maturation of the white wine takes place "on the lees". The designation Muscadet - Sèvre et Maine sur lie is a guarantee that the wine after fermentation will be in the tank on the fine lees at least until March 1st of the year following the harvest. The result is this drop with full fruit and refreshing liveliness.
AROMA: Beautiful, bright color with yellow reflections, delicate, elegant floral aromas.
RATING: Lively, fresh and full of finesse on the palate.
SERVING RECOMMENDATION: with fish and seafood, also as a refreshment outside of meals.
In the heart of the sunny Muscadet region between the peacefully flowing Loire tributaries Sevre and Maine, Domaine de la Foliette owns 32 hectares of vineyards in the Armor - Massif. The Clos de la Fontaine is one of the best locations of the likeable winemaker duo Denis Brosseau and Eric Vinsent. The permeable soil of this terrain consists of a high proportion of slate and is planted with vines that are over 50 years old. The grapes are hand picked when they are perfectly ripe. The expanded Muscadet thanks them both with a brilliant colour, racy freshness, a charming hint of flowers and attractive mineral notes. The Sèvre and the Maine, two small tributaries of the Loire, flow peacefully through the sunny Muscadet vineyards. Here the Domaine de la Foliette owns 32 hectares of old lands in the Armor massif. The permeable soil of this terrain consists to a large extent of slate. For many generations, first-class vines have been growing in the vineyards, especially the Melon de Bourgogne variety. The domaine's vines are more than fifty years old and their fruit is selected very strictly. This Muscadet thanks it with its beautiful, light color, in which the light plays yellow reflections. There is an elegant hint of flowers in its aroma, complemented by attractive mineral notes. Fresh, very lively and with a lot of finesse, it hits the palate. Delicious with mussels and seafood.
