STORY: The grapes for the Le Cheval d'Or varietal wines come from France's largest and oldest vineyard, the Languedoc. The Romans had already planted vines in the former French province on the Mediterranean coast between the Rhone Valley and the Pyrenees.
-
VINIFICATION: After the hand picking, the grapes for this wine are immediately sorted in the press house and carefully broken. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Once fermentation is complete, aging takes place on the fine lees for a few months.
-
AROMA: Aromas of dark fruits such as blackberries, cherries and blackcurrants with a light note of black tea and vanilla.
-
RATING: This dry red wine is elegant and full-bodied with a strong structure and a good finish.
-
SERVING RECOMMENDATION: with pasta and vegetable dishes as well as strong cheeses
