STORY: Located in the heart of the village of Saint-Emilion, Château Pontet-Clauzure consists of old vineyards that were first planted in the 17th century.
-
AGEING: After the harvest, a long fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks, followed by 12-14 months of aging. 60% of the wine is stored in steel tanks, 40% in French oak barrels, of which around 40% are used for the first time.
-
AROMA: Aromas of berries and light notes of vanilla.
-
EVALUATION: Well balanced and elegant, with mature tannins present. Harmonious with a fine, long-lasting finish.
-
SERVING RECOMMENDATION: At 16-17°C an excellent accompaniment to duck, game or tender steak. An equally fine wine with aromatic cheese or nice fireside chats.
