STORY: Today, Casa Ferreirinha is one of the absolute top producers in the Douro Valley. The first dry red wine of the Douro Valley was produced by this house. Ferreirinha means 'little Ferreira' and refers to the great-granddaughter of the company's founder, who tirelessly brought the Port Wine House Ferreira to the top.

VINIFICATION: After the selective harvest, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Then matured in used French oak barrels for 12-18 months. Finally, there is a careful filtration (deposit formation in the bottle).
AROMA: In the mouth it is very balanced, with the pleasant acidity typical of Douro wines and the persistent, elegant finish.
RATING: Wonderfully harmonious red wine with a strong character and a beautiful ruby red colour. Its intense bouquet is dominated by ripe red fruits such as currant, cherry and mulberry, floral notes and exotic wood.

SERVING RECOMMENDATION: with strong meat and spicy pasta

Ferreirinha means 'little Ferreira' and refers to the great-granddaughter of the company's founder, who tirelessly brought the Port Wine House Ferreira to the top. The Douro Valley is considered one of the oldest legally defined wine-growing regions in the world. The borders were already defined in 1756. For more than two centuries, only port wine was produced, table wines (in the sense of non-fortified wines) were only produced on a larger scale from 1979. While it used to be the case that the best grapes were always used for port wine, some estates now give priority to red table wine.
