  • STORY: One of the first wine cooperatives in South Tyrol was founded in 1893 in the middle of the Terlano wine-growing region. At that time, 24 winegrowers set themselves the goal of joint production and sales promotion. Today, the Terlan Winery is one of the smaller companies in the country with around 120 members, a cultivation area of 150 hectares and a total annual production of 18,000 hl or 1.4 million bottles.

  • AGEING: manual harvest and selection of grapes; gentle whole cluster pressing and clarification of the must through natural sedimentation of the turbid matter; slow fermentation at controlled temperature in stainless steel vats; Storage and maturation for 5-7 months on the fine lees, 80% in steel tanks, the rest is stored in large wooden barrels.

  • AROMA: Aromas of apricots, tangerines and passion fruit mixed with aromatic components of elderflower, nettle and mint.

  • EVALUATION: The fruity impression continues on the palate paired with a fine acidity. Good structure and the mineral and at the same time aromatic finish are particularly convincing.

  • AWARDS: 93 pts (Year 18) (James Suckling) 2 Glasses (Year 18) (Gambero Rosso) 92 pts (Year 18) (Parker Points - Wine Advocate)

  • SERVING RECOMMENDATION: Interesting combination with cooked white asparagus and Bozner sauce but also with steamed green asparagus; with tuna carpaccio, smoked salmon or raw Norway lobster.

The manageable size contributes significantly to quality assurance. Under the expert control of the oenologist Rudi Kofler, 70% white and 30% red wines mature in the modern winery, all of which have the DOC classification. Terlano wines have stored the peculiarities of climate and soil. In their careful development, great importance is attached to the preservation and emphasis of the area type. The result is unmistakable, very idiosyncratic wines that are characterized by fruit and breed, but also by impressive density and longevity.
