The winery Buitenverwachting (translated: "Beyond all expectations"), which has existed for over 250 years, is located 10 km south of Cape Town and is washed by the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. Due to the unique locations and the combination of a cool maritime climate and the world's oldest granite soils, owner Lars Maack has focused the winery on Sauvignon Blanc. Since 2016 Brad Paton has taken over the management of the wine cellar. After studying oenology in Geisenheim and longer During his stay abroad, Brad was introduced to the complex terroir of Constantia for a period of ten years by his predecessor Hermann Kirschbaum.With a total area of 150 hectares, the winery is managed by 30 families.The employees have their own houses and a farm-own kindergarten, community center and small clinic.
