Bodegas Salentein was founded in 1995 by the Dutchman Meindert Pon. Located in the Valle de Uco, they are considered pioneers in viticulture in this area, which is about 100 km south of Mendoza. The ultimate goal is the production of first-class wines, always with respect for nature as the most important resource. 700 ha of own vineyards are located around the winery at an altitude of 900 to 1,700 m above sea level at the foot of the mighty Andes. Long-time Chief Winemaker José Galante is not only considered one of Argentina's most influential oenologists, but also one of the icons of modern winemaking. With more than 30 years of experience, he knows the Valle de Uco like no other and his name is directly linked to the change in Argentine wine style since the 1980s. The wines of the Bodegas Salentein are authentic terroir wines, which act as ambassadors of the heights of the Valle de Uco and embody a piece of this land.
