• STORY: The long-established family winery Bodegas Ribas was founded in 1711 at the foot of the Sierra de Tramuntana on Mallorca. Tradition and modernity are combined here to produce top-quality Mallorcan wines.

• VINIFICATION: After the hand picking, the perfectly ripe grapes are immediately selected and gently pressed. After fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, the wine ages on the lees for a few months before being bottled.

• RATING: A youthful, dry white wine that is fruity and balanced. It convinces with its light texture and a good aftertaste.

Bodegas Ribas looks back on a 300-year family history. In the 18th and 19th centuries, the Ribas family made wines from the local varieties Gargollassa, Fogoneu and Prensal, fermented in ancient limestone tanks called "cubs". The wines were sold in barrels, but the market collapsed due to the phylloxera plague. In 1986, María Antonia and Juana Ribas, the first women in the family's history, took over the management and converted the winery to selling quality wines in bottles. María Antonia's children, Araceli and her brother Xavier Servera Ribas, have been running the winery since 2014 and are now the 10th generation. They invest heavily in research for environmental impact and sustainable cultivation. In the first step, they converted agriculture to organic production.
