Sicily is one of the largest and oldest wine-growing regions in Italy and is known worldwide for its wines. The fascinating richness of the region combined with the passion of the Sicilians is reflected in every drop of these Montalto wines. "COLLEZIONE DI FAMIGLIA" are expressive wines made from international grape varieties from the volcanic soils of Sicily. "AMMASSO" is a traditional Sicilian technique of winemaking and is only used for the best plots today due to the high proportion of manual work. The grapes are hand-picked and transported in small baskets with a maximum capacity of 5 kg. They are then dried for four weeks in their own »fruit chamber«. After fermentation, the wine ages in wooden barrels for eight to ten months and in the bottle for several months.
