The Latin word apotheca is the origin of the words bodega (Spanish) and boutique (French) and is a highly mysterious 13th-century place where wine was stored and vinified. Hence the name Apothic. An exceptional cuvée from Boyd Morrison, who as chief winemaker created a new style wine. Apothic is neither a Bordeaux nor a Rhône style wine. It is a new creation of Merlot, Zinfandel, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, others. Strong blend of Merlot, Zinfandel, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon. After a final 60 days of aging in burned-out whiskey casks, the Apothic Inferno is in a class of its own - a wine with whiskey character.
