• STORY: The opposite of a young "mainstreamer" would probably be the tradition-conscious "old schooler". Or Biondi Santi. The famous winery south-east of Montalcino can pride itself on not only having invented its own style of wine, Brunello, but also on sticking to it to this day.
  

• AGEING: The wine is made exclusively from grapes from the oldest vines. These vines are at least 25 years old. After temperature-controlled fermentation, the wine ages in oak barrels for 42 months and then ages in bottle for at least another six months before leaving the winery.

   

• AROMA: The bouquet develops within minutes: purple flowers, berries, plums, rounded off with hints of ginger and cinnamon. Infinitely elegant!

• EVALUATION: An elegant finesse on the palate, simply a Biondi Santi. .

• SERVING RECOMMENDATION: Suitable for meat dishes, grilled meat and cheese
