STORY: The Uprising lives up to its rebellious name. Instead of weighing between new and used, French and American oak, the red blend is unceremoniously placed (20%) in old rum casks, giving it sweet hints of brown sugar and caramel, of revolución and Cuba libre.
-
AGEING: The Uprising is a red wine cuvée made from predominantly Shiraz, complemented with tiny amounts of Grenache and Durif. All grapes are harvested when they are optimally ripe, fermented in the traditional way and the wines are matured one hundred percent with French oak.
-
AROMA: fine balance on the nose of the intense, spicy and slightly burnt notes of mocha, caramel and brown cake spices that merge with the fruity aromas of raspberries and blackberries
-
ASSESSMENT: Round and full-bodied on the palate with a distinctive sweetness that gives the wine a delicious fullness and density, mocha and the sweet spicy notes of the bouquet also set the tone on the palate, but are now finely complemented with hints of cinnamon and brown sugar, velvety, dense and full-bodied in the finish with elegant, aromatically sweet ripe blackberries and raspberries
-
SERVING RECOMMENDATION: with spicy finger food, on the grill (meat, poultry, vegetables), with slightly spicy meat stews, white beans, lentils, Cajun dishes or medium-ripened cheese
