STORY: Since 2001, when Jochen Dreissigacker pressed his first wine, he has achieved a lot. In 2005 he took over the family winery in Bechtheim and has been managing it with organic certification since 2007.

VINIFICATION: The grapes for the Pinot Gris come from organically farmed vineyards around Bechtheim and Westhofen and were selectively harvested by hand in small standard containers. The Dreissigacker Pinot Gris was spontaneously fermented and matured 70% in stainless steel and 30% in tonneau and double barrels. First the wine was stored on the full yeast for four months. It then rested on the fine lees until it was bottled . Due to the expansion in stainless steel barrels, the fruit and complexity of the Pinot Gris are preserved. The wood content gives it strength and character and at the same time ensures harmony.

EVALUATION: Full-bodied and powerful on the palate with an enchanting fruity aroma. from exotic aromas, with mineral and nutty hints.

SERVING RECOMMENDATION: Goes well with cod ceviche with baked sweet potato or a veggie bowl with millet, lukewarm goat cheese and pomegranate.

Today, the 42-hectare Dreissigacker winery has achieved a world-class reputation and stands for an impressive portfolio of powerful, finely mineral, elegant wines. The independence of the wines was the goal for Jochen Dreissigacker right from the start. Riesling and passion were the way. With the belief that only healthy and strong plants can withstand the constantly changing weather conditions, Dreissigacker invests most of his work in cultivating the vineyards in Bechtheim and Westhofen. The result is natural and unadulterated wines with an unmistakable character, which reflect the peculiarities of their respective location and have been developed in such a way that they have particularly good aging potential. Jochen had the newly established winery built in the middle of the vineyards in such a way that there are perfect conditions for the single-vineyard wines to mature longer in the barrel and in the bottle, and thus to bring out their respective character even more and at the highest level.
