STORY: Monks from the Abbey of Vertheuil founded the monastery of Cantenac as early as the 12th century and produced renowned wines here. In 1951, Alexis Lichine, who was considered the wine pope at the time, took over the winery.

AGEING: Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The young wine is fermented on the tanks for 25 to 30 days. For aging, the wine is filled into French oak barrels and stored for 18 months. 50% of the barrels are used for the first time each year, the other half are one year old.
